 We
drive past many Baobob trees on our way out to the Nyamina region for
meetings in several villages.
 We
run into lots of traffic en route to Nyamina. Today is market day in the
main village.
 This
is the main village of Nyamina.
 We
are heading further out into the bush.
 We
have brought beds for this maternity ward, where they previously had none.
 We
also make a repair on the solar panels we had installed at the maternity.
 Hungry
yet?
 A
bystander watches curiously.
 This
woman shows us around.
 The
villagers share this common living area.
 These
women are drawing water from a well.
 These
buildings for storing grain are raised off the ground to keep the rodents
out.
 We
head to the next village.
 The
welcoming party approaches.
 These
cattle bring new meaning to "Free Range".
 This
donkey's not too sure about the visitors.
 These
resourceful villagers use a roped donkey to pull water out of the well.
 Somehow
our driver navigates these roads that split in all directions and offer
no signs.
 The
building in the background is a typical village mosque.
 This
is common transportation.
 The
crowd gathers...
 Keeping
the cows watered is hard work!
 (Not
for the cows.)
 This
little boy is in charge of cow control.
 We've
been holding meetings with the village elders in all these villages. Second
from the left is the chief.
 These
children say hello in Bambara. "I ni bara."
 Find
what you need here at the village store.
 Enjoy
the scenery.
