Banco School sees dramatic improvement in student test scores following installation of locally made solar panels by Practical Small Projects. Prior to installation, 6 out of 37 students passed the national exam. After installation, 36 out of 37 passed. As chores usually take precedence during the day, lightbulbs extend the productive hours available for studying.

Malian President Amadou Toumani Touri admires Practical Small Project's solar box oven at the International Conference on Water held along the Niger River, in Bamako, Mali. The oven garners much attention as Malian's see the value in an alternative to using expensive and extremely scarce coal and fuelwood.
